New Flyer Articulated Low Floor Bus
Along with the New Flyer hybrid artics Metro also purchased 30 low floor artics with a conventional drive train. They also are air-conditioned. These 30 buses look like the hybrids except there is no battery pack on the roof of the rear section. These buses have the same Caterpillar C9 diesel as the hybrids, but have an Allison B500R transmission instead of the hybrid drive.
