 Meet Felicia and her dad, Mark. Felicia is a kindergarten student. Her dad, Mark, works for Metro's Customer Assistance Office. They like to ride their bikes together. One day they decided to try out Metro's bike racks. Felicia knows it is important to have an adult with her when she rides a Metro bus.
When the bike rack is not being used, it is folded up against the front of the bus. This is how to use the bike rack.
- As the bus approaches, have your bike ready to load.
- When the bus stops, tell the driver you are going to put your bike on the rack.
- Always load and unload your bike from the curb side of the bus.
- Hold your bike with one hand and use the other hand to pull down the bike rack.
- Lift your bike onto the rack. Put the wheels in the proper slots. The slots are labeled "front" and "back.
- Raise the support arm over the front tire and release it so it rests on the tire.
Remember: The driver cannot see you when you are that close to the front of the bus, so ALWAYS tell the bus driver when you are going to load or unload your bike.
