Metro is a groovy, fun and safe way to get around town!

move it! Bikes on buses

Take Your Bike for a ride on the Bus

All Metro buses are equipped with racks capable of holding two bicycles. There is no additional charge to take your bike on the bus. Cycle to a bus stop, take the bus, and ride your bike the rest of the way to your destination. The combination of bike and bus makes it easy to get around without a car.

Load your bike on the front of the bus and ride a little further with Metro!!

Tips for a safe trip with your bike

  • Always let bus drivers know you plan to load or unload your bike.
  • Always load your bike from the curbside of the bus.
  • Sit near the front of the bus and watch your bike. Metro is not responsible for stolen bikes.
  • No bicycle loading or unloading is allowed in downtown Seattle's Ride Free Zone between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Always wear a helmet while riding.
