We missed our stop, pillows
for each other, mouths slumbering wide
to passing worlds, arms loosely hugging
lunch boxes--two lives lolling in time
to a mothering squeak and groan, halt
and roll. The driver followed breathing
to find us nestled in the last seat,
twin strands glistening down our chins
