Intersection

The man with the three-legged dog appears in the street again this morning. The woman opens her mouth and instead of words, speaks blue moths, flying out soft and small. One blue moth wings to the window ledge, waits, while another finds the dog and flutters underneath. The woman only watches, her mouth matching the upcurve of the wing, matching the downcurve of the absent leg.

Sarah Gallagher lives in Seattle where she is currently in her second year of the MFA program at the University of Washington. She likes to go running with her dogs.
