The Bengal Tiger

In the swamp a wild hog took
The black stripes for grass. The tiger,
Colored to fool hogs, took the shoat
For food. Dying, the tiger was fooled
By the swamp, which took him for grass--
The final and complete camouflage.
So the hog was right; just
Too early.

Michael Spence.
