Night Cat


She slips in from the midnight yard calling where are you where the moon is full then loud lapping at the water bowl. Grazing our faces with a furred edge of claw, trailing her sweet scent of soil and air and leaf she circles and settles, her ear alert for our waking, her tongue hidden against her saber teeth.
