Owed to the Naked [Word]
Bold
unbothered
befuddled ones,
demidivinities
in print
or betimes on stage,
Winged Victories of Samothrace
come to life, melodic and blithe,
shedding accessories, barely
mastering the art of losing:
I exalt your opulent topographic charms
but dwell on the bumptious imperfections, surfacing
like transposed near-homophones or
consonants dropped
postpositively.
A light! O
amazing heiress of trailer-park grace:
you’re at sea, sharp
as ataxia, head back,
amuse[d].
