Sky Buttons
High clouds cover the sun, shade it mother-of-pearl the size of a button. I want to reach up, turn off translucency, return the heavens to azure.
Clear nights, I’ve seen a full moon unbutton the sky’s cloak, reveal stars that glisten like silver sequins on a black gown.
