Recycling Project showcase
One of the most commonly available items for the general public is bus shelter glass. Metro Transit currently purchases around 40 tons of bus shelter glass per year in order to outfit new shelters and to replace glass that has been damaged and/or vandalized at bus stops. With no local markets for recycling used laminated safety glass, Transit faces the options of either landfilling the damaged glass or else giving it away.
This unique material can be used in a number of ways, but sometimes it helps to take a look at a few ideas to spark your own imagination. The projects that follow were completed by every-day people and represent just a few examples of what can be done with this glass.
