South Lake Union Trip$

King County Metro will be introducing a new program to encourage commuters who work in the South Lake Union area to switch from driving alone to an alternative commute choice. The South Lake Union Trip$ (SLU TRIP$) program will pay an individuals $3 a day (up to $180) over 90 days for each day they commute by a means other than driving alone. The commuters will use an easy trip log that will keep track of commute choices.

The SLU TRIPS program will begin in January 2008 and will reward employees who make a change and start carpooling or vanpooling, take transit, telework, bike or walk to work. Our program supports a number of efforts by employers in the South Lake Union area that are trying to make the community more transit, bike and pedestrian friendly. We can make a difference one trip at a time and we can make a little money too.

Check back for more information as we launch the new SLU TRIP$ program in South Lake Union. For more information contact Ref Lindmark at 206-684-1104 or ref.lindmark@kingcounty.gov
