Metro’s Visitor Pass

Ride Free Area
Riding the bus in downtown Seattle (see the map for boundaries) is always FREE between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.



  • Exact fare is required at all times.
  • Metro has a two-zone fare system. The Seattle City limits are the zone line.
  • Peak hours are from 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Off-peak is all other times.
  • All Metro buses, including the George Benson Waterfront Streetcar, are fully accessible for disabled riders.
  • Children age 5 and under ride free.
  • The pass is not valid on other regional transit systems.

Or, call Metro Rider Information at 206-553-3000, TTY users call 206-684-1739 or, toll free within Washington state 1-800-542-7876 and tell the operator where you are and where you want to go.
