Description

We know that most car trips are for personal and family purposes rather than traveling to and from work. Car Smart Communities Challenge Grants are one tool which individuals and community groups can use to reduce car trips in neighborhoods by encouraging alternative travel choices. Grant money is available to fund Car Smart projects.

A dozen projects have been completed, and more are underway. Learn about existing Car Smart Grant-funded projects.

Grants are awarded up to a maximum of $5,000, and applications are reviewed monthly. Applications requesting less than $1,000 may be reviewed sooner.

Learn more about how the program works, or go to the neighborhoods web site to find out how to apply for a grant.

One Less Car Challenge: "Seattle households get taste of living with fewer cars or even sell one of their cars."
