Description |
Washington State Ferries operates the largest ferry fleet in the United States. Twenty-five ferries cross Puget Sound and its inland waterways, carrying over 26 million passengers to 20 different ports of call. From Tacoma, Washington, to Sidney, British Columbia, we travel up and down the Sound, acting as a marine highway for commercial users, tourists and daily commuters alike. Washington State Ferries has become the largest ferry system in the United States and the third largest in the world. Over 25 million people a year ride on the ferries.
In the Puget Sound Region, ferries run between West Seattle, Vashon Island and Southworth; and between downtown Seattle and Bainbridge Island or Bremerton.
Ferry fares vary from run to run, and time of year. See the web site for specific costs and schedules. Driver fares are paid each way, except for Vashon Island. The driver pays round-trip costs going to Vashon.
