King County Thanks Metro Customers With FREE Bus Service
Service will be free on all King County Metro Transit buses Saturday, December 4, 1999, King County Executive Ron Sims has announced. Sims called the free service a way of thanking customers who experienced service disruptions during the World Trade Organization conference.
"Bus riders were patient and understanding during a week in which bus routing changed by the hour and the transit system simply could not operate on schedule," said King County Executive Ron Sims. "Offering free service is our way of saying thank you."
Metro bus service will be free throughout King County Saturday, December 4, 1999 for the entire service day.
Service will also be free on both Saturday and Sunday, December 4th and 5th on Sound Transit Express Route 550, operated by Metro.
"Metro customers and employees had to cope with some very stressful situations," said Metro Transit General Manager Rick Walsh. "A day of free service will help us all relax and get back into the holiday spirit."
