New ST Express Service in 2000

All routes provide limited-stop express service.

Sound Transit fares will be in effect for all routes. Fares are $1.25 for one zone, $2 for two zones and $2.50 for three zones. The ST Express routes described in this publication will travel through a maximum of two zones.

Sound Transit is using new buses for ST Express service. The new 40-foot buses have bike racks, high-back seats, overhead parcel racks, air conditioning, reading lamps and adjustable air vents. The new 60-foot articulated buses are low-floor, which means customers do not have to climb steps to get on the bus. Both types of buses can kneel close to the ground, making it easier for people with special needs to get on and off the bus.

When the entire network is completely implemented, ST Express will operate more than 190 buses on 18 routes in the central Puget Sound region.
