Metro Online Redesigned for Faster, Easier Use

Metro Online has been redesigned to offer you a consistent interface and quicker, easier access to the most frequently requested information on the many public transportation services and programs available in King County.

Our redesign effort focuses on the structure of the site, and the best ways to quickly access information from wherever you may be in the site. Information content has been regrouped under new sections, and a new navigation system has been implemented.

The redesigned site includes two primary navigation areas, both of which appear on every page. The left navigation bar provides access to every major site section. On every page except the home page, the upper navigation bar provides one-click access to the site's three most popular areas - timetables, trip planning, and pass sales, as well as a Search Metro Online function.

To further assist users, the left navigation bar expands as you move through the site to display more options, any of which can be clicked on for direct access. Within Metro Online, there is a "breadcrumb trail" feature that some users will find helpful. The "breadcrumb trail" lets you know where you've been within a particular section. As you click through a section, the route you took will appear on each page, directly above the page title.

At the very top of each page is the King County navigation bar. Use it to access full information at the King County web site. This King County navigation bar includes a search box for searching web information for all of King County.

Another handy way for users to access and search for information is through the Metro Online Site Map. A link to the site map appears on the bottom of each page. Once clicked, users are provided with an alphabetical listing of information contained within the site. Each item can be simply clicked to access the full data.

Metro Transit was the first transit agency in the United States to have a web site. Launched in 1994, it led the way for easy-to-access web-based transit information. We've continuously updated our web tools over the years to incorporate technological advances to improve speed, usefulness, and interaction and will continue to do so in the future. We hope that you find our site both useful and easy to use. Please send us your comments and feedback by using the "comments" button on the King County navigation bar located at the very top of this and every page on the site.

Thank you!
