Redmond-Seattle, Duvall-Woodinville-Seattle, and Eastgate-University District service
Map 5 depicts changes to Route 266 in Redmond. Changes are also proposed to the service levels of routes 272 and 311, shown on Map 3. See the potential service changes Route frequency and span chart.
Why changes?
- Shift resources from duplicative and low-ridership services to service changes with higher ridership potential.
Potential changes
- Route 266 would be revised so that all trips start or end at the Redmond Park-and-Ride. Route 266 would no longer operate between 185th Avenue NE and the Redmond Park-and-Ride via the Bear Creek Park-and-Ride. Alternative service between the Bear Creek Park-and-Ride and the Redmond Park-and-Ride would be available on King County Metro Route 253 and Sound Transit ST Express Route 545, and between 185th Avenue NE and downtown Seattle on Route 268.
- Several midday trips would be discontinued on Route 272.
- Alternate service would be available via Eastside local service and a transfer at Bellevue Transit Center to or from Metro Route 271.
- Service levels between Duvall and downtown Seattle would be adjusted on Route 311 to operate six a.m. and six p.m. trips. No change would be made to the number of trips operating on Route 311 between Woodinville and downtown Seattle.
Advantages
- Service resources from shortening Route 266 and adjusting service levels on routes 272 and 311 can be reallocated to other Eastside service changes.
Disadvantages
- Some Route 266 riders between 185th Avenue NE and Redmond Transit Center would have to transfer at Redmond Park-and-Ride to access Route 266.
- Some Route 272 midday riders would have to transfer at Bellevue Transit Center to travel to or from the University District.
