Metro nutcracker graces bus tunnel

Photo of Metro's Nutcracker

Evidence of the Third Annual Nutcracker March [external link] is all over downtown Seattle, as giant, colorful nutcrackers line the streets and dot the corners.

The nutcracker sponsored by Metro has already been a big hit, winning the "people’s choice" award. It is located in the Westlake Station in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. It is appropriately titled "Riding the Magic Carpet."

The colorful statue was designed by Shannon Krig of Star Design, and the painting and detail work was done in partnership with Metro's own Paint Shop.
