New Transit Now Route 221

Route 221 is a new all-day route providing daily service between Redmond's Education Hill and the Eastgate P&R via the new Redmond Transit Center, 148th Ave NE, Overlake Transit Center, 148th Ave SE and Bellevue Community College. Route 221 serves the Bellevue CC campus on weekdays only.

On weekdays, Route 221 operates every 30 minutes from 5 am to 7 pm and every 60 minutes from 7 pm to 10 pm. On Saturday, Route 221 operates every 30 minutes from 7 am to 7 pm and every 60 minutes from 7 pm to 10 pm. On Sunday between 8 am and 10 pm, Route 221 operates every 60 minutes.

Northbound in the morning, Route 221 operates from Eastgate P&R to Redmond TC. Southbound morning trips operate from Redmond TC to Education Hill and then continue via the Education Hill loop and Redmond TC to Overlake TC and Eastgate P&R.

Northbound in the afternoon and evening, Route 221 operates from Eastgate P&R to Education Hill via Overlake TC and Redmond TC, and then continues via the Education Hill loop to Redmond TC. Afternoon and evening southbound trips operate from Redmond TC to Eastgate P&R via Overlake TC.

At Redmond TC, southbound trips to Eastgate P&R serve Bay 4 and northbound trips to Education Hill serve Bay 5. At Overlake TC, southbound trips to Eastgate P&R serve Bay 3, and northbound trips to Redmond TC serve Bay 4.

Metro's Transit Now funding targets peak-hour overcrowding and the need for improved service frequency during weekday midday hours and on weekends. Metro will expand transit service by 20 percent over 10 years. For more information, visit our Transit Now Web site.
