Bus service revisions during Fremont Bridge overnight closures

Revised September 26, 2007

Metro Transit bus routes 26 Local, 28 Local, 28 Night Shuttle and 74 local operate via revised routing when the Fremont Bridge is closed due to on-going construction work.

When the bridge is scheduled to be closed for overnight construction on weeknights, Metro routes 26, 28 and 74 are rerouted.

On designated evenings - to be announced by SDOT - the bridge closures will be from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Metro Routes 26, 28 Night Shuttle and 74 local are rerouted on those evenings from 9:00 PM to the end of service, and on the following mornings from start of service to 5:45 AM. Buses that are scheduled to cross the bridge just before, at or after 6:00 AM will operate on regular route and serve normal stops, with possible minor delays.

For the construction-related reroutes of transit service please see Metro Online's Reroutes & Service Exceptions page and the posted reroutes for:

  • Route 26 Local - Both directions 9:00 PM to End of Service; southbound only 5:00-5:45 AM
  • Route 28 Local - 5:00-5:45 AM only
  • Route 28 Night Shuttle - 9:00 PM to End of Service
  • Route 74 - Both directions 9:00 PM to End of Service; not affected mornings

Watch this page for additional and future closure information, or visit the City of Seattle web site [external link]].

For assistance with transit information call Metro Transit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except major holidays when they are closed.

Your patience during these service revisions is appreciated.
